SimHQ Motorsports is one of the other solid, if not underrated websites in our sim racing community, providing some unique news and updates. This time, they’ve been able to have to have a Q&A with Tim Wheatley and Gjon Camaj of Image Space Incorporated. If you don’t know, ISI is the team behind development of rFactor 2, which has been out for around 2 years now. SimHQ was able to an in depth interview with Tim and Gjon, to give us a solid idea of what’s to come in the latter part of this year, and also what direction they see rF2 going. It is a lengthy read, but I would definitely recommend it to anybody interested in rFactor 2’s development. The interview also gives us some exclusive never-before-seen screenshots, showing us quite a bit of the content heading to ISI’s latest sim. I’ll show some at the bottom of the post, but you’ll have to check out SimHQ Motorsports to see the full list!

This interview could be sort of seen as a followup to the interview SimHQ Motorsports did back in 2010, talking about the then-unreleased racing sim. It is definitely amazing to see how far the sim has progressed in four years, and it’s cool to see how much more is in the pipeline! While rFactor 2 may not be moving at the pace that some people may want, there is no denying that development is speeding up and rF2 is shaping to be a very solid sim!
I would also like to mention that I have plans in place for an interview with Tim Wheatley in the near future, to also check on some other parts on rFactor 2’s development. I would like to hear what you guys have in mind for things to ask Tim. If you want to chip in with some ideas for Inside Sim Racing’s interview, you can let us know in the comments or check out this thread.

I haven’t read the interview yet but I will, I’m a member at SHQ.
I’m a big fan of rFactor2. For me, the biggest problem I have with the sim is the glaring lack of the more popular real-life tracks. There just aren’t enough of them for this sim to hold my interest for very long and I find myself moving to other sims that have more variety and more mainstream/popular tracks. Hopefully this will improve in the future because I really love the feel of this sim.
