Project CARS is shaping up to be a solid full featured racing title, with elements such as weather and day/night transition. In this video by Ryzza5, Project CARS’ weather system is put to the test in a 2 lap video around the Nurburgring Nordschleife.

The race uses a scripted weather pattern, to start off dry and sunny, and then has the weather decline to a full fledged thunderstorm! Time is accelerated to 10x, and it is cool to see the conditions dynamically change as the race progresses. I personally enjoy seeing puddles form on the track, and how the wipers only wipe away the part of the windscreen it can reach.
The rain also looks realistic while racing against other cars, with spray actually impairing visibility. Bear in mind, that weather is not completed in Project CARS yet, but I still gotta say, it looks great so far! It will be interesting to see how things shape up in the next two months leading up to its release.
Project CARS will be available November 18th in the US (21st in Europe) for the Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Steam OS and Wii U releases will drop sometime next year. A Limited Edition will also be available, featuring a special steel case and a “Project CARS: By Racers 4 Racers” behind-the-scenes book.
Are you going to be getting Project CARS when it releases in two months? Let us know in the comments below!

Am I the only one who finds it absolutely ridiculous that a limited edition is not available for pre-order for North Americans? Are you serious SMS?
I share your disappointment, but the North American market for racing games is very limited. A specialty retail set that’s really just designed for product launch is an even tougher proposition.
It is funny how on Gran Turismo we had so many players and we always had the Europeans that would show up all the time to play with us. Now on PC I feel like the lone American playing in most of the games, except iRacing of course.
I am SO looking forward to this game. It has the looks, the sounds and the potential to be what Gran Turismo always wanted to be but never was… I am ready for mid November.
So looking fwd to this with my t300.
Will have this game no doubt, it’s seems to be one of the best games ever made! Will have to find out on the release date, or sooner 😉 Can’t wait for this piece of simulation racing history to hit the stores!!
