Kunos Simulazioni has released some more previews of the Chevrolet Corvette C7.R race car, which is coming to Assetto Corsa later this year, in the form of post-release DLC.
The Corvette C7.R is being outsourced by Kunos to the UnitedRacingDesign modding firm. For those of you who don’t know, they are the group responsible for the EnduranceRacingX and T5 payware mods for rFactor 2 and Assetto Corsa. They appear to not be skimping in the quality department either, despite the likelihood of URD not having access to laser scanning. The car will likely fit in quite nicely with the other GT cars once it is released alongside the laser-scanned Nurburgring Nordschleife Circuit in the Dream Pack DLC.
In addition to the Corvette previews, some more interesting news has been coming out of the Assetto Corsa camp. First off, Marco Massarutto has released new previews of the enhanced graphics engine coming to the sim. He has also laid out a roadmap of what will be coming in the near future:
- New Graphics
- New Shaders
- New Effects
- Improved Physics
- Improved 3D Models
- Improved Force Feedback
I will say, that’s quite a laundry list of updates to the sim, and the big question is “When will we get these?” Well, judging by some rumors (note you’ll need to translate this page), it sounds like we could be getting at least some of the updates could be coming in the next version! The next update is expected to come in at around 3 GB, which implies that we could be seeing additional content, in addition to the upgrades. It is also rumored that the next update could be the final one in the Early Access, before the title goes gold (though I haven’t heard any indication myself either way).
If you haven’t purchased Assetto Corsa yet, now’s as great a time as possible! If the rumor is true, you may only have a month or so left before the price jumps from $40 to its retail price of $50. You can purchase Assetto Corsa from Steam here.
Are you looking forward to the new updates coming to Assetto Corsa in the near future? Let us know in the comments!

This game has really great points, it just is difficult to keep updated unless you can do or have the time and patience to learn how to download and install all the tracks and cars and updates… I am really looking forward to a game on a disc that I can play with some of my less computer inclined friends…
Tim, surely one of the benefits of Steam is it does the updates for you and downloading and installing the add on mods and tracks really isn’t that difficult. There are plenty of friendly helpful people on here who would help with any problems.
I figured it out, but I have friends that throw up their hands and walk away if it involves more than plugging in and inserting a disc. It took me a while to understand the sequencing and starting point are given. If you have never done it before and don’t have anyone to explain it, it can be frustrating. I am making videos that show step by step how to do it for my friends, but some of them refuse to believe they can do it.
As with most things nowadays Google and You Tube are your friends.
Forums help.
I’ve got to say..I’m an 0lder guy and Don’t know Tiddly Hop about PC’s. But, I’m trying to learn. I can download Tracks and Car’s into the game. BUT, there are some Car’s & Tracks that W0N’T load correctly for some reason. That I don’t know why, I load them as I do the others and it shows they are in the game. BUT, in the game it doesn’t show them???? Any Idea’s? My Corvette C6R was in the game and now it’s NOT????? Something is Stinky Finger wrong here!
Stone, don’t download directly into the game. create a folder for downloading to. Some will be zip files and you’ll need to extract them using either winzip or winrar. Once you see the folder layout you can work out where they should go. ie. your drive:Steamsteamappscommonassettocorsacontent then either to cars or or tracks.
Hope that helps a bit.
