If you missed the chance to try The Crew during the few closed betas they had, now is your chance to try it before you buy it. They just announced that they will be running another beta but this time it will be open to the public. The Crew open beta will be coming to the Playstation 4 and XBox One. Here’s the details !
We’re having an Open Beta on consoles (PS4 & Xbox one) from November 25th until the 28th
We’ll be flashing the go sign at 9AM CET on the 25th, and we’ll be raising the checkered flag at 9AM CET on the 28th.
Players with Xbox Live Silver or PlayStation Network accounts will be able to play the game, enjoy Free Ride across the US map, cross other players’ paths, and participate in all the asynchronous activities that THE CREW offers. However, in order to communicate with others and to dive further into the multiplayer experience with Co-op and PvP, either an Xbox Live Gold or PS+ membership will be required.
Did you get a chance to try it during the closed beta ? I did and thoroughly enjoyed it and am looking forward to trying it on the PC as well. The Crew is compatible with all the current Thrustmaster wheels on the console and I would gather just about all current wheels on the PC.
Matter of fact, here’s the last video I posted of me playing it on the PS4 with the Thrustmaster T300.

I hope they don’t delay the PC release of this game again, kinda odd to be doing a open beta this close to release date (Dec 2nd), that’s a week and a half away.
I’ve had the PC version reserved and paid for, for a few months now, anxious to try this out. 🙂
I can’t see them delaying the release this close to launch, unless a MASSIVE issue is uncovered.. This Beta will probably serve 2 purposes.
1) Marketing Beta to promote interest in the game.
2) Test for server issues and bug fixes.
I think this beta is a smart move.given the Drive Club debacle, and Ubisoft themselves having issues with the new Assassin’s Creed, First 2 were closed technical betas. This open beta will give them a peek at a larger server load and possibly test a bug fix or two. If something happens……. it gives them a few days to work out server kinks, and/or an download update. I was in both closed betas, and I did have an instance where a crew member & I couldn’t see each others car. We could see each others gamer tag, and could follow each other using that reference. They might be checking to see if a couple things like that are fixed.
I am thoroughly enjoying the ride with you. A little disappointed that the T500 does not work as well with it as I hoped. Although I am learning to tune the wheel to the games and loving it. I am impressed with gameplay. It is definitely arc-sim-cade, but it looks like a lot of fun. The PSN gold member has me wondering about the PC version and chat availability. I ended up watching this whole video, get driving there at the end. This game still has that gritty feel like NFS Carbon, but on a modern system. I would love to play it, but no PS4 and wish you could get the game on PC too. Maybe T500 it… That wheel is sublime on PC, PS3 heavy but I am getting used to it. I have to say, I laughed along and was cheering for you the whole ride. Thanks for the preview.
