Assetto Corsa Announces Lamborghini License

Kunos Simulazioni has been teasing a big end of the year announcement for days and now we know what all the fuss is about.  Lamborghini is coming to Assetto Corsa.

Not only are nine (!) Lamborghinis from the road and track coming to the title but Kunos expects to release a total of 50 (!) cars in 2015.  The highlight of the new content – which was previewed in the video – will be the ‘Dream Pack’, featuring a laser scanned version of the Nordschleife and ten awesome cars (listed below).  Kunos will start releasing teaser pics of the Dream Pack next week with further information on price and release date to follow.

Assetto Corsa is certainly riding the wave of excitement right now with the release of v1.0 and a slew of quality mods from the community and it doesn’t appear like Kunos is letting up on the throttle anytime soon.

    1. I was thinking that as well. New cars are swell but the track list is already a bit short and I’m finding myself missing tracks that are available in other titles.

          1. Oh, that’s brilliant thinking. Very open-minded of you. Road racing does exist outside of Europe you know. It would be like iRacing excluding all tracks outside the US. After all, it’s an American title.

          2. Then iracing would not have any racing …. But thats not my point I was just saying its an european title so its obvious they will work their way on europe tracks and cars and then going to usa. And there is a few tracks I like from the US like Sebring, cota, Daytona and a some others I cant remember right now.

          3. “Then iracing would not have any racing..”

Umm, not really. There is such a strong NASCAR following that iRacing would probably survive on the oval racing alone. But, I prefer road racing.

          4. True true.
Me too am a road racer but I like to go for those long oval races just to decompress from road racing.

          5. My only “gripe” with the “Euro” games like Assetto Corsa and Sector 3 that I can only find a few people to race with I am retired so I go on at all kinds of hours and while there is a few hours a day I can find people to race with, they are few and far between. I wish more people in the U.S. or at our time zones would play.

          6. Yes, this is the method iracing appears to be using. Get the tracks close to base of operations and then start expanding out.

          7. iRacing started with mostly American tracks. Assetto Corsa started with mostly Italian tracks. Can’t blame them – especially when they’re using laser scan.

          8. Of course I can blame them. Who else would I blame? LOL

It’s not like the game is still in beta. There are plenty of good ones to choose from: Mazda, Watkins Glen, Mid-Ohio, Sebring, Indy (road course), Road America, Road Atlanta, Lime Rock, Circuit of the Americas, Sonoma, etc. I just find it disappointing. There are some iconic circuits there.

          9. You think that because I haven’t created a game that I have no right to complain about the content of a sim I’ve paid for? A sim with the worst AI of any current racing/driving sim on the market and an incomplete career mode? You’ve never complained about a product you’ve purchased? Ever? I’ve seen enough of your posts to know that you complain PLENTY.

So, stop acting like I just pulled the binky out of your mouth. I’ve got the right to complain about anything I’ve put my money down for.

Using your logic, I wouldn’t be able to complain about E.T. for the Atari 2600 (widely regarded as the worst video game of all time) because I’ve never made my own game.

You upset because I cast aspersions on your sim of choice? Get over it. I own all the current sims and I find there’s good and bad in all of them.

          10. Criticism is one thing but you were sounding like an entitled brat. A small indie sim like Assetto Corsa will branch out depending on the level of success it has and 1.0 has only just been released.

          11. I was simply expressing disappointment, not condemnation. I own the sim. I like the sim. But, I can still express disappointment at things that are missing or features that are underwhelming. Hell, people were raking it over the coals for not having animated pit stops during the beta! And people are STILL knocking it for lack of night driving and lack of a weather system (not me, by the way, I could care less about either).

You’re sounding like a fanboy who can’t stand the read the slightest level of criticism aimed at your sim of choice.

        1. I thought maybe it was just my eyes at 60 Hz. Glad to see I am not the only one. I don’t read the forums like I should.

          1. It’s fairly subtle. A lot of people don’t notice it. Basically, every 6th frame gets shown twice when the monitor refresh is set to a multiple of 60Hz. It seems to be a conflict with the physics engine since it only happens with on-board cameras but not during replays. Every time somebody raises it as an issue in the forums, the devs kill the thread which is disappointing.
