Forza Motorsport 6 Test Drives

Today was the first day we were able to share pre-release Forza Motorsport 6 content with you so we made sure to get as much as we could.  Presenting three Test Drives from the three tracks we are allowed to show you at this time; Rio, Spa at night and Sebring in the rain.

This was a handful.  Rio is a really cool track with slow corners, fast corners and a lot of elevation change.  Think Turn 10 did a great job of capturing the far from perfect surface of a street track.  Feel like the on-the-power and over-the-crest action of the car was spot on compared to the real cars.  Is Turn 10’s version of the Indycar as good as say iRacing’s?  No.  But overall it’s pretty solid and I enjoyed hustling it around the Long Beach on steriods Rio.

This was a handful too.  Darin took the Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradele to the dark, darkness of Spa for a race against the AI.  As you can see…they weren’t the easiest to share the track with.  The AI also being in much faster cars doesn’t help either.

This was two handfuls.  The Dodge Viper GTS-R GTLM isn’t necessarily the easiest car to drive in the dry…so let’s try it in the wet!  The “rain” option is a new addition to Forza Motorsport 6 but I think a better name for it would be “deluge!”.  While any real world series would probably cancel the race, Forza tells you to nut up and get on with the show, and as you can see, that’s not the easiest.  Racing in the middle of “pro” level AI cars in the rain is one of the harder racing experiences I’ve had in a long time…or ever.

So what’s are early take away of Forza Motorsport 6 from these three races?  It’s f***ing hard.

For a “simcade” title it’s certainly pushing us sim racers to the edge.
