iRacing Release New Content Teaser

While we already know everything that is coming in today’s tomorrow’s Season 4 iRacing build, that doesn’t mean we don’t like watching a good trailer.  iRacing has released this gem to either hold everyone over for another day or make everyone foam at the mouth that much more.

One new tidbit that the promo does show (or play) is the engine note for the C7 Corvette Daytona Prototype, which is already receiving some push back from the community.  I don’t think it sounds too bad but allegedly it’s not close to the real-world car (which I haven’t heard in person) and sounds a lot like the Riley DP that it replaces.

Another cool feature that is shown off is the Leader Light on the DP which displays the cars running position, a useful feature in real-life.  Hopefully iRacing looks to add it to other cars that run it in the real-world like GT cars and now Indycar.

One semi-but-not-really-nugget in the promo are the new Justin Wilson logos, honoring the late Brit, a classy move by iRacing.

Speaking of Justin Wilson, iRacing is holding the Justin Wilson 150 on September 12th to honor the avid sim racer.  Here’s the details:

iRacing will honor Justin Wilson, an outstanding human being, one of the finest racers of this (or any) generation and enthusiastic supporter of iRacing, on Saturday, September 12.  The Justin Wilson 150 features the Dallara DW12 in a 100 lap, 150 mile race at Texas Motor Speedway, site of the last of Justin’s seven IndyCar wins.
Open to all license levels, the open setup race starts at 12 noon (eastern)/ 16:00 GMT and will be preceded by a 15 minute warmup.    As the race is scheduled for a Week 13 weekend, single car qualifying sessions will be run every half hour once the new build is released, with 30 car grids based first on qualifying times, then iRating.  See the series page for complete details.
Those wishing to support Justin’s family during this difficult time may make a donation here: http://justinwilson.co.uk/donate

Hopefully some of you can make the event, and more importantly, donate.

    1. No new tracks for the build. My understanding is all hands are on deck for the Nurburgring and that will be out sometime mid season or next build.

      1. Well, that’s disappointing. I was hoping there’d be another road track released. Not sure why but I was hoping for Imola. I thought I remember they announced Imola the same time they got the rights to Monza so I was hoping it’d be out by now. But, Nurburgring will certainly be a terrific release when it’s done.

        Thanks for the update.
