iRacing Previews McLaren MP4-30

iRacing has released the first images of the McLaren MP4-30 Formula 1 car coming to the service next month.  The huge 4K photos – time to change your desktop image – show off the McLaren in one of it’s natural environments at Circuit of the Americas.

iRacing said in last week’s blog that McLaren had sent them CAD data as recent as three weeks ago and you can clearly see this in these images.  The car features McLaren’s mid-season updated body work, which is most recognizable by the short “finger” nose instead of the longer beak used at launch.

The car also features the love-it-or-hate-it dark second-half livery.  It will be interesting to see what member will be able to do paint-wise.  When iRacing’s current F1 car, the Williams FW31, came to the service in 2010, it arrived with only the Williams livery or solid color.  Thankfully, an “inadvertant” template leak allowed for the car to be modified by the community not long after launch.  Hopefully the same holds true for the MP4-30.
