Project CARS: Patch 11.0 Released With HTC Vive Support! Slightly Mad Studios has released their latest patch for Project CARS. Installing the patch will now add support for that other HMD, the HTC Vive. Actually, this patch is quite VR orientated, with a slew of UI and mouse improvements for the existing Oculus CV1 as well. I believe that Project CARS may just be the first title to officially support the two biggest players in the VR headset market right now!
Whilst using the HTC Vive headset, Project CARS now supports SteamVR’s room customisation. This allows the user to customise how the 3D space surrounding the menus is viewed in the SteamVR Workshop. As can be seen in the changelog, the patch also features VR mouse support, as well as Gaze control support, presenting the user with the possibility to change between the two at will. This would also allow them to be used in conjunction with Custom Controllers and Gamepads, should you have them.
It is strongly recommended by SMS that the configuration files which store the various settings be deleted. These can be found by following the path you see here below:
“\Users\<username>\Documents\Project CARS” and are the files with XML extension.

- Fixed an issue with the pit-in trigger potentially initiating when the player is on the main straight

- Added support for the Thrustmaster TMX ForceFeedback wheel
- Fixed an issue with Fanatec wheels where at times it would cause dropped frames at the start of a race
- Fixed an issue with Fanatec wheels where LEDs and pedal rumble motors failed to work after a disconnect/reconnect
