It’s been a little while since we’ve talked about NASCAR Heat Evolution around these parts, the official NASCAR licensed game that we thought was….ok-ish. But even wit that said, it’s still the best avenue for many NASCAR fans to get their officially licensed fix, a fix that’s about to get a whole lot sweeter.
The 2017 Team Update will become available on February 21st for $9.99. The Team Update gives you all the cars, drivers and teams of the 2017 season. Plus that hideous new Toyota Camry.
If you purchase the 2017 Team Update, you will be prompted to drive either the 2016 or 2017 season when you fire up the game, with the 2017 option providing Race, Championship and Career modes. If you do go this direction though, you will have to start over your Championship season and/or Career.
The update does not include any of the new segment rule changes for the 2017 season because they were only officially announced two weeks ago and are dumb.
That “and are dumb” part was added by me.
For a title that has had an interesting relationship with DLC, and by interesting I mean charging a lot for just paint schemes, the 2017 Team Update is a good looking deal. Let’s be honest, back in the EA days we paid $60 a year for essentially new paint schemes. Now you are getting that, but for only $10.
Sweet.
Plus, one of the major draws of purchasing an officially licensed game is the ability to race at the same track as the real life series does every weekend. Now you continue to do that, and do it for the entire 2017 season.
So kudos to Dusenberry Martin Racing for properly pricing and developing worthwhile DLC for NASCAR Heat Evolution.
