From Karts to F1 – New Content Coming to rFactor 2

Two new updates have come in regards to rFactor 2 content, one from ISI, one from Mak-Corp.

First off, Tim Wheatley has released screenshots and video footage of rFactor 2 karts. At first, there will be two types of karts available at release: the Junior Kart and the Kart F1.

The Junior Kart will produce 20 horsepower, and weighs in under 150kg (including the driver). The Kart F1 will only weigh slightly more, but generates double the power, making it a true challenge to wheel around. Both karts will be capable over pulling over 2G in turns, with the sticky tires provided. With a 5:1 steering ratio, you will learn that the phrase “less is more” applies well in the turns.

The two video previews showcase the Quebec Karting Circuit, both in the long configuration and the short configuration. They definitely look good so far, and will likely be a blast to drive!

If you fancy racing at the top rung of the racing ladder, Mak-Corp has you covered! They have released new previews of the 2004 Williams FW26 mod, currently in development. As most sim racers know, Mak-Corp has been behind many high end mods for the original rFactor, and are transferring their talents over to the current generation of sims.

The FW26 competed in the 2004 Formula One season, and was piloted by Juan Pablo Montoya and Ralf Schumacher. Featuring a very unique “walrus nose” and a high pitched V10 scream, the car struggled throughout the season, despite being a title favorite. Williams then fitted a more conventional nose late in the season, and started improving, with Montoya winning the season finale at Brazil.

Are you looking forward to the new content making its way over to rFactor 2? What mod are you looking forward to?
