Polyphony Digital has released the newest DLC for Gran Turismo 6, giving you a chance to race vehicles piloted by the late Ayrton Senna. A new game mode, three new vehicles, and special Senna outfits have now been added free of charge to the Playstation 3 exclusive, after installing the 1.08 update.

You can get behind the wheel of the 1978 DAP #17 Racing Kart, the West Surrey Racing British Formula 3 Car, and the Lotus 98T. Racing in the special events will earn you Senna’s race suits from 1980, 1983, and 1985. Brands Hatch and Monza have also taken a trip back to 1985.

Along with the Senna release, the Mitsubishi Vision GT has been released. The Mitsubishi XR-PHEV EVOLUTION Vision Gran Turismo is a plug-in hybrid with an AWD drivetrain. An eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox connects the motor to the wheels, and the S-AWC system keeps you going in the right direction. The sleek body is made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic to reduce weight. The car is free as well and is included in the 1.08 update.

You can download the latest GT6 update, the Senna content, and the new Mitsubishi the next time you fire up your PS3. What vehicle are you most excited about driving?

  1. Gran Turismo 6 has been one small disappointment after another. I do play it every evening, because it does have the best SOCIAL method of any racing game on the market. You can open a room and go from track to track and change cars and talk all the while. No other game allows that. It is limited in video and audio quality as far as the racing goes, but it is so nice to be able to hang out with friends from all over the planet. That is the part of this game that you guys never reviewed. I have friends all over the World because of this game and that makes it my favorite game.

    1. I did mention that the online aspect could add a lot more fun to it. Mainly I was let down by how close to GT5 it is. I did have fun with this new content though.

  2. @Tim what you using to chat with, text or a headset? I haven’t really explored the online world of GT6 but I would be willing to try it given your enthusiasm.

  3. I use a Tritton 720+ headset to talk and race. It allows separate control of the car/ambient sound and the voice chat. Almost any headset will work, you have to go into the crossbar and down to accessories, then turn on your headset, it reads it. It is fairly self explanatory just look around. Also want to go into the Options, hit start on main screen and in upper right corner is Options where you set up wheel or controller and set your audio. I use 5.1 and small theater it seems to work for most systems, but is not default. I am usually on in evenings U.S. Mtn time, SPATIALDRAGON is my online persona.

For me GT6 is a bit of a dissapoinment because there are no endurance races, well there are some but they are 24 minutes and with a pitstop every 10 min. it isn’t really fun or so. GT6 does feal better than GT5 with a controllers which is really the only reason why i play it. Online racing for me isn’t an option… so now i have to hope that they’ll bring out an Endurance race dlc With really 24 hours race… Thanks kaz… I really hope GT7 will be better because i still love the series only on the ps3 it was kinda rubbish,..
