Taking a Quick Peek at MTB Freeride

MTB Freeride may not be a title you may have heard of. Heck, I hadn’t even heard of it until today when I saw GamerMuscle’s latest video covering it. I’m glad I did though, because it’s a ton of fun, and worth anyone checking out if you’re looking for something different.

MTB Freeride is a  mountain bike simulator, where there is only one goal: get to the bottom of a mountain without falling. The graphics and physics in this game look top notch already, and will provide a challenge for anybody looking for it. You can even use a wingsuit in the game, which is a blast.

Best part of this sim? It is totally free! While the title is currently in development, you can download it for free from Desura. The title is currently in version 0.45, but version 0.5 is planned to be coming next month, bringing new features such as the ability to customize your bike.

If you enjoy the title, you may also want to drop by its profile on Steam Greenlight, and give it a vote. Seeing as it is the #2 title on Desura at this moment, I don’t think it will have any problem making it onto Steam when it reaches 1.0 later this year. If you want to keep up to date on the latest happenings in the game, you can check out their official site.

Have any of you given MTB Freeride a go? What were your thoughts on it?

NOTE: Currently it is only available for Windows, but the final release is planned on release for PC, Mac, mobile devices, and tablets.

  1. This reminds me of a Playstation 2 game called Downhill Domination. It was a bit more arcade, but it was an absolute blast. If you have a PS2, I highly recommend it.
