In iRacing’s latest build, the road configuration of the Dallara DW12 was released. Many people were wondering how it would compare to the Dallara IR05 in the road racing department, and if this video is any indication, it makes for some great racing!

Wil Vincent of Racespot broadcast the top split IndyCar race today, with a Strength of Field tipping the scales at 5144 (for the non-iRacers out there, that is a very high average skill level). This features some of the best production values of an iRacing broadcasted race, and is definitely worth the watch!
An interesting topic that has been debated in the iRacing forums is if the DW12 should be considered to replace the Williams FW31 as the car for the Drivers World Championship next year. Prior to the FW31’s release, the IndyCar was utilized in iRacing’s premier series. Due to more advanced features in the DW12, people are thinking that it could make for more exciting racing. What do you think? Let us know in the comments!

why not have both in a there own premier series have WC DW12 series and WC FW31 series there is enough skilled drivers to compete in both.
There is strong following for both cars so i say let every one win and have both in the premier series i know the FW31 is getting old but it is still a rather complex car to race and i see plenty of good races i just think if numbers are there utilize more coverage for iRacing by having both cars having there own premier series.
I actually watched this race live in the sim. Was very depressing realizing I was 2 sec off the pace. 🙁
I do think they should use this in the WC. The car is a blast and the FW31 is so old. Will probably provide better racing too. The P2P will really make a difference with the level of talent in the WC.
What I would really love to see is for iRacing to partner with Indycar like they do with Nascar and have that be the WC. Run mostly road courses but toss some ovals like Indy, Auto Club, Iowa and Milwaukee in there as well. Give the series the officialness that it’s been lacking and will never, ever, get from the FIA.
