Reiza Studios has released a new batch of previews for Game Stock Car Extreme, showing us a glimpse of what is to come in the 1.25 update. These previews show a couple new go karts, and two tracks, one of which appears to be a classic Formula One circuit.
First off, we have 4-stroke go karts. Very popular at amusement parks and commercial environments, these serve as a cheaper, lower powered option for those looking for a quick racing fix. While these karts aren’t exactly as crazy as their two-stroke brothers, don’t mistake them for chumps either. These can still reach speeds of up to 65 mph (depending on if the engine is limited or not). We do not know which spec 4-stroke will make it over to Game Stock Car Extreme, but no matter what, it should be fun and bring a different kind of racing in!
If you’re looking for a little more “Extreme” in your karting, look no further! Superkarts are coming to Game Stock Car! These things are totally insane! I tried them out on an rFactor mod, and these things will blow your mind and leave it behind on the asphalt. Niels Heusinkveld posted a some videos a couple years ago showing off kart physics, and lets just say I’m super excited to try his physics on a Superkart!
For those of you who don’t know what a Superkart is, it is a kart, but SUPER! They generally feature a 250cc motor on it, which generates 85-95 horsepower. That much power in a sub-200 lb chassis, add in aerodynamic bodywork, and you get speeds of over 150 miles per hour, which is just insane, sitting with your butt only 4-5 inches above the ground! These are the fastest karts that are professionally raced, and are a blast to watch as they blow right past you.
Next up we have two tracks featured in previews. Reiza did not officially post which tracks they would be, but the community is assuming it is Kyalami and Goiânia.
Host of South African Grand Prix from 1967 to 1985, and a quick revival in 1992-1993, Kyalami was a popular location for F1 fans. The track featured some exciting battles over nearly three decades, but faced quite a bit of controversy at times. Due to the infamous 1985 race amidst international fiascos, the South African Grand Prix was axed until 1992. In 1993, Kyalami was bought by the South African Automobile Association, which could no longer financially sustain a GP race, so Kyalami fell off the F1 calendar.
Kyalami is now starting to face a revival, with some recent activity. Just a month ago, Kyalami was auctioned off and Porsche South Africa purchased the circuit. Could we possibly see a South African Grand Prix return? Time will tell.

Oculus Rift DK2 support please!
After playing LFS in VR I can’t possibly go back to a monitor.
Just wondering, MrGreen, how long can you play wearing the Oculus Rift before things start getting uncomfortable?
With LFS, as long as on a flat screen. No problems at all.
Damn… Sounds like the future is already here, then. On the one hand I feel that even one game that truly immerses you justifies a purchase, let alone two (LFS and pCars), on the other I know I will kick myself and possibly it when the Oculus consumer version gets out.
Thanks for the info!
I heard Imola was gonna make it to this update as well.
