CTDP is back. A few months ago, the infamous team from rFactor’s heyday dropped a hint that they could be bringing an open wheel car/series to Assetto Corsa and now they have delivered in the form of International Formula Masters (IFM) 2009.
While the IFM cars don’t quit pack the same raw speed punch as CTDP’s previous Formula 1 cars, the IFM cars should still provide the open wheel feel. The cars feature a naturally aspirated 250-hp Honda K20A engine and spec chassis from Tatuus. This combination leads to lap times in the same area as Formula 3 cars.
Potentially one of the main reasons why CTDP decided to tackle the IFM car versus their bread-and-butter Formula 1 cars (besides litigation…) is that they had a substantial amount of data. The team was able to get their hands on the engine and chassis user manual, allowing them to create very realistic physics.
The mod also includes all the teams, drivers and liveries of the 2009 season. Plus, paint templates and a setup guide. What more do you need?
After a long, long break from the modding world (2010), it is good to see CTDP back. You can download International Formula Masters 2009 here.

The car is very soft riding. Not rigid and lightweight like I expected.
