GSC Extreme – Johannesburg Historic Preview

Rieza Studios, maker of Game Stock Car (GSC) Extreme, have released a new video showing off the soon to be released Johannesburg Historic circuit.  The video takes you behind the wheel of Emerson Fittipaldi’s Copersucar FD04 F1 car in the mid-70’s as he qualifies on the super quick Kyalami Circuit.

The 2.5 mile (4.1 km) long circuit has the feel of the modern day Red Bull Ring and Imola combined with fantastic elevation changes and big speed thanks to only six – nine officially – turns.  I bet you could actually overtake on it too, unlike some tracks I know today…[insert every Tilke track with 20+ turns].

Its nice to see such a high quality historic track being recreated.  For as much as there’s a desire for current, laser scanned, tracks in the sim racing community, its nice to have an obviously not perfect (not Reiza’s or anyone else’s fault) historic track tossed in every once in awhile.  Especially when that historic is a gem like Kyalami and when it looks as good as it does.  Seriously, that cockpit angle looks fantastic, love the atmosphere created by all the fans.

Look for Johannesburg historic to come to GSC Extreme in a free update in the near future.

  1. WOW, Amazing. I have driven the “new” Kyalami and love it, but speaking to those veterans who have driven the old track (back in the golden era of F1) they say this one is much better. Just glad to see South African tracks getting on the map!

I believe the track is getting altered some more by the new owner (Toby Venter) so that it complies with a european series for track length, although I am not sure which one.
