Just before Christmas, Studio 397 released the Nissan GT500 for rFactor 2! The newly released model is the 2013 Nismo GT500, which did the rounds in the popular Japanese Super GT Championship! The mighty Nissan GT500 has a carbon fiber body, draped over an all steel tubular space frame. Powered by a front mounted 3.4 liter Nismo VK45-SGT V8 engine, drivers of the car had 530 bhp at their disposal. This is definitely a car that many sim racers had been hoping to see released to the title.
With the release of the Nissan GT500, Studio 397 gave all owners of the PC only sim racing title a nice little pre-Christmas present. With all the Chrissy presents now opened, it is time to get out on your favourite circuit and unleash the 530 horses of this track monster! A little background on the Japanese Super GT Series:
*The 2013 Autobacs Super GT Series was the 20th season of the Japan Automobile Federation Super GT Championship including the All Japan Grand Touring Car Championship (JGTC) era, and the 9th season under the name Super GT. It was the final year of the GT500 regulations introduced in 2010 as the 2014 season would see unified technical regulations with the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters.The season began on April 7 and ended on November 17, 2013 after 8 regular races and 1 non championship event.

The car, built for the 2013 SuperGT GT500 class, follows in the footsteps of two championship titles for this Nissan GT-R in 2011 and 2012. It is one of the most powerful GT cars out there, with an engine that delivers over 530 bhp at a weight of only 1,100 kg. Optimizations in engine response, even more torque, and better fuel economy make it superior to the previous year’s model. The rear wing and fender with their shark-tooth-shaped design provide downforce while reducing drag as much as possible.
