RaceRoom: Shanghai, DTM 2015 and WTCC 2014 Out Now

Its been a busy few weeks for Sector3 Studios and RaceRoom.  First it was the Dev Stream that looked at short-term and long-term projects coming to the title.  Then it was the release of a significant – and large – patch that brought a lot of key updates.  Lastly, we have this week and three major new pieces of content.  Lets take a look at them.

First up is the release of Shanghai International Circuit.  The track was released on June 9th and can be purchased here for 499 vRP.  The 16 turn, 4.451 km, circuit is a refreshing addition to RaceRoom and sim racing in general.  While many sims receive licenses for the same tracks around the same time, Shanghai is one of those tracks that hasn’t been licensed by everyone and their cousin.  In fact, I don’t think it’s in any other major title today.  Plus it’s one of the few good Herman Tilke Formula 1 tracks out there.  And, as with most things coming out of Sector3 these days, it looks pretty fantastic.

Yesterday, June 11th, Sector3 launched DTM 2015 Virtual Championship.  Unlike previous years when the DTM Experience was a purchased addition to the title, DTM 2015 has turned into a free online competition.  The competition is made up of 18 Time Attack Challenges, with the top 20 participants qualifying for the Multiplayer Race.  At the end of 18 weeks a champion will be crowned (and given a trophy!).  There will also be plenty of prizes along the way.  Check out this page for details, the leaderboard is already filling up!

Last but not least is today’s release of WTCC 2014.  After being teased with the pack all week, Sector3 has stopped the torture and made it available for download here for 899 vRP.  The pack gets you the Chevrolet Cruze, Honda Civic, Citroen C-Elysee, Lada Granta and all he liveries from the 2014 season.  Pretty much a must have pack if you’re a touring car fan and you don’t already own most of the cars.

  1. I do have most of this game, but I really have not even played it in months. It was so hard to find players in a room and I bought three of these packs where I never found more than a single player in them. Now I did find I was having trouble finding rooms in Project Cars on my pc until I changed the Steam server to England from Denver U.S. and now I can see more rooms. That might help here too. Just a thought. Steam, settings, downloads, server, London.
