Project CARS: First Official Trailer Released

After an influx of community trailers, World of Mass Development has released their first official trailer for Project CARS, on their new Youtube channel. Featuring the work of WMD Member JonZ (responsible for some incredible fan videos), this trailer features many of the cars and tracks that will be available at the title’s release.

Project CARS is set for release in the Fall of this year, for the PC, SteamOS, Playstation 4, Xbox One, and Wii U, making it the first multi-platform next gen racing title. It will feature full races (including pitstops and strategies), either with AI or with fellow racers online. PCARS is said to feature a bleeding edge physics engine and a dynamic weather and time-of day system. The title will also feature a top-notch graphics engine, featuring support for 4K displays, as well as the Oculus Rift.

Slightly Mad Studios was formed in 2008, and acquired Blimey! Games (The driving force behind SimBin’s GTR Series) in January of 2009. Their first title, Need for Speed: Shift, was released in September of that same year. After a couple years of developing titles such as Shift 2 Unleashed and Test Drive: Ferrari Racing Legends, they decided to independently develop Project CARS, with a large influence from the community.

  1. >.> <.< 0.0 Thanks for the reminder, forgot I have about 3 days worth of builds I haven't checked out yet. It just keeps getting better and better.

  2. It’s not an official video. It’s a continuation of JonZ’s series of amazing fan videos. Of course, well made videos like this have SMS’ and pCARS fans’ blessing, but it’s in no way “official”. That will come later.

We’re calling it official because it’s the first trailer to be released on WMD’s official Youtube channel.
