Looking to return to its roots, namely the TOCA Race Driver series, GRID Autosport lets you race across five disciplines of racing, as you progress in your non-linear racing career. Race touring cars, open wheel racers, street cars, and more around over 100 routes in 22 environments, ranging from legendary circuits to Codies-designed street circuits. Endurance racing also is available, with races lasting up to 45 minutes, featuring realistic tire wear and fuel consumption (scaled to race length).
Along with the game’s release, Codemasters has announced RaceNet Challenges, which will give racers six new challenges to race on every week, one for each discipline and one “party” race. You can earn additional XP and in-game cash for competing in the challenges. These week’s challenges are:
- Endurance Racing – Endurance GT cars at Spa-Francorchamps
- Street Racing – Hypercars at Washington, D.C.
- Touring Cars – Super Tourers at Mount Panorama
- Open-Wheel – IndyCar racing at Indianapolis
- Tuner – Drift event at the custom designed Autosport Raceway
- Party – Demolition Derby at Detroit
GRID Autosport is available on Steam, and your local retailer. A high-resolution texture pack is also available as free downloadable content. You can also sign up for RaceNet at www.racenet.com.

This is going to be a tough decision. I have a friend on PS3 that wants to play on that platform. I can get way better resolution on my PC. $50 is a lot for a game that has 2 strikes against it in my book, 1. codemasters, played their F1(2011 and 2012) games on PS3 and 2. Grid, played that on PS3 too. Both were not what I am looking for. The F1 games handled horribly and the games felt rushed and were not updated or improved upon. The Grid 1 was even worse, not wheel friendly and too over the top arcade. I am going to wait and see on this one.
I looked up racenet.com and it says it is an Australian racing website. Maybe more than one I guess, but too far from U.S. for me.
