This is an interesting one. The Machine Dojo Modding Team have released the 2015 Audi R8 LMS for Project CARS on the PC. Cool. But there’s a catch…Project CARS isn’t suppose to be moddable…
With that said, it’s here, and the from-scratch model looks great.

Well, great besides one thing. Please kill the broken glass graphics. It’s Plexiglas, and only shows any sort of cracking pattern when something like another car lands on it. Hitting the wall does not crack it, it bends. And while we’re on the subject, you too Assetto Corsa.
While Project CARS currently has plenty of GT3 cars – an industry theme these days – it does not have the latest and greatest R8. This is where Machine Dojo steps in. This is their first car and they plan to make more to fill in the content voids.
Considering how pretty much every GT manufacturer has unveiled a new car in the past 18 months, they have plenty of work ahead of them.

Where’s the one for AC?
Into what file do I install the mod?
Via BSim since I’m having hard time finding that info again… http://www.bsimracing.com/project-cars-2015-audi-r8-lms-mod-v1-01-released/
Correction. It isn’t that pCARS “isn’t” moddable. Devs never claimed that. The only thing SMS has ever said on the Mod front is that they will not support modding and they will not stop it either. Meaning they won’t give out tools for modding.
pCARS uses the same mod techniques that NFS:Shift and S2U used being that they all use the same file system.
Installed it and enjoyed it for a day or two and then…
Proj Cars crashed with “Unhandled Exception” everytime I tried to start race or practice. Finally figured out that everything returned to normal once I selected another car… And now the 2015 Audi R8 LMS doesn’t show in the select car menu anymore! Fun while it lasted and I will not mess with P-Cars mods anymore.
