Raceroom Salzburgring Preview

Remember the other day when I was talking about the backlog of tracks that RaceRoom is cumulating?  Well there was one track I had forgotten about…because we haven’t had an update about it in nearly a year.  That track would be Salzburgring and it is coming to the title soon (and continuing the tradition of Sector3 Studios recreating every track that has ‘ring’ in its name).

The strange thing about Salzburgring is the last preview we saw – nearly a year ago – was a video that made it appear like the track was done.  So why did it take so long to release?  I guess it could be a number of technical reasons but my guess would be that it just got bumped in favor of more critical projects, and if you remember how Sector3 ended 2014, you could say that was the right move.  The packs and updates in the second half of 2014 really brought new life to RaceRoom.

With that said, these screenshots do look pretty fantastic and I wonder if the track was put on hold until it could be brought up to RaceRoom’s current graphic standards.

Either way, the virtual track looks just as beautiful as the real world track.  Sector3 says the track is ‘coming soon’ to RaceRoom, and unlike the last time they said that, I think its going to happen.
