RaceRoom Previews Circuit Paul Ricard

Circuit Paul Ricard in RaceRoom - ISRTV.com

Sector3 Studios have released a new video showing off the next track to make its way to RaceRoom, Circuit Paul Ricard.  While the 5.8 km French track may look like a glorified parking lot, it’s actually a pretty entertaining time.  Just watch what the real-world Blancpain Series did there less than a month ago and I think you’ll agree.

Outside of the Blancpain Series, Paul Ricard has quit the racing history, having hosted Formula 1, Moto GP and WTCC races in recent years (making for a good pairing with the WTCC packs).  The track is also heavily used for testing thanks to its temperate location in southern France, allowing for all year running.  In fact, many of the top Le Mans teams spent the week prior to this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans race shaking their cars down at Paul Ricard.

What I like about the addition of Paul Recard to RaceRoom is its yet another important real-world racing track that isn’t featured in many titles.  Like Macau and Shanghai, RaceRoom has been able to differentiate themselves from other titles, while giving us tracks that we actually want to drive.  Bravo.

No word on how much the track will cost but Sector3 says it will be released ‘soon’.  I just hope that Sector3 have their track limit penalties dialed in, because they will be needed.

  1. I just reloaded the game last night. It always had the best sound of any sim and the best feedback thru my Buttkicker2 since it gets its input thru sound. The game has been simplified too, the byzantine trail has been reduced to a two lane highway into and out of the game. Even the assigning of button boxes and and wheels is simpler. Still a bit confusing but not nearly as difficult as before. Worth a second look or a free trial.

    1. What i´ve read you should buy the simvibe software for the Buttkicker, because it´s worth it. You get information instead of just immersion. I got the Software-Key already because i ordered an Accuforce Pro and will soon buy some cheap Bass Shakers powered to my ancient but strong enough Amplifier through a USB-Audio-Interface. I get even two bass shakers for 70 Euros with up to 200 watts each. That´s the plan:)
