Slightly Mad Studios (SMS) have released the Audi Ruapuna Park Track expansion pack for Project CARS. As the name indicates, the pack is a mashup of three Audi’s – more on a fourth later – and the Ruapuna Park International Raceway in New Zealand. Ring a bell? No? Well you’re not alone cause I’ve never heard of it either, but it sure is fun to say.

Lets start with the Audi’s. The pack features three classic racing Audi’s; the R18 e-tron Quattro, Audi R8 LMP900 and 1989 Audi 90 IMSA GTO. Any racing fan worth their salt will be familiar with these cars, with the first two combining for eight(!) 24 Hours of Le Mans wins and the latter dominating the old North American IMSA series. And for those keeping track at home, you may recall the Audi 90 IMSA GTO from other titles such as RaceRoom and Forza Motorsports 5. The car seems to be maturing into legendary status and a lot of titles are keen to get in on it.
A piece of content that you haven’t seen in any other Triple AAA title is New Zealand’s Ruapuna Park. The track is a little bugger at only 2.10 mi (3.38 km) in its longest layout and comes in a total of five configurations. Even though the track may not be on our radar on this side of the world, it does host some significant series, like the New Zealand V8’s. I can only imagine they put on a great show in the tight confines.
The expansion pack can be purchased for $5.49 in the Steam store and other platform’s stores.
And about that fourth Audi. Every Project CARS owner will/has received the Audi A1 Quattro as the second free car for the title. While its not quit a historic race car, it is free.

Well, it looks nice, just have to wait for Steam to get back to me… I guess I could get it on my PS4 version.
