Welcome to Test Drive Tuesdays. In this weeks test drive, Im back to WRc4 by Milestone but this time I am running on the PC and in triple screens. I will be driving using a Thrustmaster T500 RS with the GTE wheel and a set of Fanatec Clubsport pedals. The PC version of WRC4 allows for triple screen support and I am running on 3 X 27 inch monitors. The PC version of the game features much faster loading times and the ability to use multiple controllers.

I have read in some forums of people complaining of the force feedback in the game. I found it to be much lighter on the PC then on the PS3. I then went to my Thrustmaster control panel and cranked up the center spring. This brought the force feedback of WRC4 to life. I actually could feel the different terrain, with the grass off the road pulling on the wheels. I also read of other having deadzone issues. This was not the case with the T500 and I was running at 900 degrees of rotation. One frustration I have found with the game and so have some others, is the tremendous amount of deadzone in the pedals. I haven’t found an adjustment that allows me to have the pedal react as soon as I press it. There are linearity settings within the game but it didn’t seem to help.

In this video I try to talk along the way. I talk about the graphics, the physics and even the sounds. I talk about the overall driving experience and even let you know a little bit about what it is like to drive the Finnish rally.

Some images of my Finnish adventure !
