rFactor 2 – Build 798 Released

Image Space Incorporated has released build 798 for rFactor 2, bringing mainly bug fixes to their title. This latest update also continues the rollout of the 64-bit version, now with the ability for the launcher to auto-select which EXE to use (32-bit or 64-bit). In a welcome addition as well, you are now able to use the auto-updater without logging into your rFactor 2 license. Note that there may be some changes beyond what is posted, with some people reporting improvements to the tire model.

It is also worth noting that a few days ago, Jeremy Miller tweeted that this may be one of the last updates to support Windows XP. I feel this could be a good sign of things to come, with ISI moving rFactor 2 to a more modern system.

What do you think of the latest updates (and 64-bit) coming to rFactor 2? Could we be in store for some big updates in the future?

I’ve done some testing of the build. In one word: smoother.

FPS has improved around 15% on my system, and it feels more fluid than it has before. Good update so far
