Kunos Simulazioni have made the first official car reveal for the Assetto Corsa Dream Pack 3 and it’s the Ford Escort RS 1600. While Kunos didn’t make it entirely clear, it appears like we’re getting the circa 1973 model. Here’s Kunos’s summation of the little guy.
The Ford Escort is born from a partnership between Ford and Lotus during the 60s. This car became a icon of racing thanks to its successes in rallye and GT races in 1968, 1969 and along first years of the 70s, due the release of the RS1600 powered by a Ford Cosworth engine.
The RS in the model name is a abbreviation of Rallye Sport, and although 1600 was the initial engine displacement, in 1973 this was increased to 1800cc.
Adorbs.
While the Escort only marks the second officially confirmed piece of content for the Dream Pack 3, the alleged official list has popped up in a bunch of places. You can see the said list below.
- Brands Hatch
- Lotus 25 1963
- Lotus 72D
- McLaren 650 GT3
- Mercedes-AMG GT3
- Abarth 500 Assetto Corsa
- Ford Escort MK1
- Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera
Call me redundant, but I am pretty excited about the updated McLaren and Mercedes GT3 cars. I know, there’s a million GT3 cars in sim racing today, but damn, these are two of the sexiest ones.
Beyond those two, my excitement levels off a bit. The Lotus 25 is a bit redundant with the 49 already in-game. Same goes with the Abarth. The 79D could be interesting. And if I want to drive a Lambo, I got the Huracan GT3.
So yes, another mixed bag of cars, but of course, to each their own.

The reason I never use AC and RF2 for that matter, is not because of the lack of cars, it’s the lack of tracks, especially North American road courses, there are many great circuits in North America, unfortunately, AC overlooks them.
I like AC BUTT ! Would love to have rolling starts or even just the ability to start in first and use of clutch. I would have thought that would be something that would be done before all the mods and cars. Seems forever unfinished.
