Great news for Reiza fans, Automobilista EA v0.8.9r released! Rewind to late March 2016, due to a copyright infringement claim by a thus far unnamed third party, Reiza Studios were obligated to remove their Early Access title, ”Automobilista” from Steam’s Online Marketplace.
Until very recently, Reiza Studios had not divulged the origin or details of the copyright claim and/or content breach. There has been a lot of speculation as to who or what was behind the claim, the most popular theory being that these accusations were filed by the FOM ( Formula One Group), who happens to be responsible for the promotion of the FIA Formula One World Championship and protection of the sport’s commercial rights. Neither of these claims and/or conjecture has been confirmed nor denied by any party.
On to the positive side of this story, and after a temporary withdrawal, Reiza Studios has gotten Automobilista back on Steam and is once again available for download. With this good news, Reiza Studios has released Build v0.8.9r which includes Force Feedback and AI updates, as well as a large number of re-made skins for several of the title’s fictional series.
I am sure there are many Reiza and sim racing fans that will now be extremely pleased to see Reiza’s great racing title return to Steam. Automobilista can now once again be enjoyed by the masses as one of the most promising titles in sim racing. You can download Automobilista on Steam right now.
