As we know since the last development update, a new formula style car, which poses similarities to the cars of a certain global formula racing series, is coming to Reiza Studio’s Automobilista. Some footage of the car ripping around the newly-released Hockenheimring has now been “leaked”.

Leaked?
Well, not exactly leaked. In fact, Reiza shared the video on its Twitter page and it was uploaded by Niels Heusinkveld who is involded in Automobilista’s development. Only thing to note is that it is unlisted.
Anyhow, the car already seems to be in a very good shape. Especially worth noting is the audio, which really captures the “thunder” that comes with such a car. The improved audio is most likely the result of new audio filters, which Reiza mentioned in its development blog in March. Moreover, the car will introduce new physics models to the game to correctly implement the hybrid drivetrain.
But how did Reiza get the data for the car?
Good question. And the answer is actually not that simple. Since most racing teams in certain major formula series are not too keen on sharing their data, Reiza has to do some calculations of its own. Luckily for us, Niels Heusinkveld also did a video as part of his Fun With Physics series, explaining the process.
