RaceRoom Racing Experience (R3E) already has some pretty cool throwback content such as the 1989 IMSA GTO Audi 90 Quattro and its about to receive more. Developer’s Sector3 Studios has released this teaser showing the cars of the 1992 DTM season blasting by.
This is awesome news for a couple reasons. First, the cars. The 1992 DTM season featured a diverse field of cars, including the Audi V8 Quattro Evolution, Mercedes 190E 2.5-16 Evo2, BMW M3 Sport Evolution, Opel Omega 3000 24V Evo500n and the Ford Mustang GT. Second, non-aero racing. Unlike the alien looking, aero-sensitive, cars of today’s DTM, the cars from 1992 were bricks on wheels. Less aero-dependency means better racing.
The only release info Sector3 has given at this point is “coming soon.” The question is how will DTM 1992 be implemented into the R3E universe? The video doesn’t use the “Experience” label like the stand-alone DTM Experience 2014 so I’m guessing it’ll be more like the 2013 ADAC GT Masters and 2013 WTCC packs.

The 90 Audi Quattro in the game is trash. The transmission is junk, the turbo is ridiculous, the lag and jolt of when it catches is comical. Go online and see how many people are racing it. It is a travesty of the actual car. I am surprised Audi has not sued them for defamation of character. Hopefully these cars will be a better representation.
lol? The hell car you driving? That thing is amazing and probably one of the most fun, exciting and gratifying cars I’ve ever driven in a sim.
Really looking forward to these 1992 DTM cars.
