RaceRoom – eSports WTCC Grid Extended Together with Other Changes

RaceRoom WTCC Monza start

You may remember that a couple of weeks ago, the the WTCC 2016 car pack was released for RaceRoom and together with it, the official eSports World Touring Car Championship was launched.

The first race is already over and now some important adjustments have been made to the rulebook.

What has changed?

The most important change, is that the gird size for ALL divisions has now been increased to 30. This gives six extra drivers per division the opportunity to take part in one of the races.

Qualification time was also extended. The leaderboard for the next race now opens directly after qualification for the previous race has been completed.

A points system has been introduced to the Hotlap Competition as well. Your best time from each track in the leaderboards will be converted to points. At the end of the competition, the 50 drivers with the most points will all receive a ticket for the final event each.

The full list of changes can be viewed below.

Rule changes with immediate effect:

– The grids of all divisions are extended to 30 cars.

– The leaderboards for the next rounds will now always open as soon as the previous leaderboard closes. That means, they will be open for longer than 8 days.

– We will reintroduce overall standings for the Leaderboard Hotlap Competition. The leaderboard times of each round will get converted into points and accumulated. In the end, we will reward the dedicated and hard-working drivers. The top 50 of the overall standings will all recieve one ticket for the final event each.
(Please note two things: First of all, these points have nothing to do with the multiplayer championship. It’s a separate thing. Also, due to technical limitations, we have to count the final leaderboard from Monza, where Gomez was on top, and not the one with the screenshots where Dornieden was on top).

– Some points in the rulebook are clarified: Yellow flag rules, track re-entry, skipping corners on the outlap on leaderboard, extended practice time, track boundaries in the race.
