Fanatec took to social media today to promote this picture of what we assume to be a new budget friendly wheel. The rim appears to be leather with the Fanatec tuning screen integrated into the rim, along with a red light strip to mark the center of the wheel.
Outside of that things get a little harder to spot so we forum member Er1c99 brightened the image below (and did a much better job than me). Once brightened you can more clearly see what’s going on here. The wheel has pedal shifter, which appear to be metallic. It’s a three spoke rim with a five hole pattern and an Xbox One button and LED on the bottom spoke. Now, thanks to ER1c99, we can see that it also has the traditional Xbox X,Y, A, B buttons, what appears to be three more buttons on the right and most likely a D-pad on the left, maybe surrounded by more buttons?
The wheel seems to be void of any kind of hub, further indicating it’s going to be more of a consumer grade wheel along the lines of a Thrustmaster and Logitech.
Fanatec states that the wheel is already in stock in the EU and US and will start selling next week…which means we’ll know much more about this new wheel very soon and we’ll be the first to tell you when it does break.

I’ve always been wondering, if anyone had both: compared to a T500RS, is a Fanatec really worth the quite indecent price? The main reproach I would have for the Thrustmaster (beside the non-support, that is), is the endurance problem when a higher level of FFB is used for 2 hours or so and it starts losing force – which doesn’t happen with subtler FFB like AC or rF2 or by tuning pCARS. And the button layout that could be better, no big deal though. Otherwise it’s very good, what could justify paying 2-3 times more?
No fade at all with V2 after hours of racing. IMO yes Fanatec is so expansive and only went up in price this year, but the quality is so damn good. FFB is also extremely smooth and immediate with no lag at all. I cringed at the prices when ordering V2 base and V3 pedals but that all went away during the unboxing before I hooked anything up.
Never tried fanatec wheels. Are they really so much better than thrustmaster gear?
It’s better but twice the price. With that said I think it justifies it. Both thrustmaster and fanatec are good, just depends on your budget.
Remains to be seen at what price point this wheel comes in at
I like the speedo in the wheel, but it looks like it is in kph and I have a T500 so it is just another “maybe someday.”
Believe it’s degrees of rotation, although, a tach would be cool
