Last weekend saw the running of round four of the FIA WEC, the six hours of the Nurburgring in Germany. Sim Racer, Philipp Schalli, happened to be in attendance during the weekend and the presence of several promotional simulators running Assetto Corsa and featuring a race at the Nurburgring did not escape his attention! He managed to record around 30 seconds of what could be the first Assetto Corsa Porsche footage and posted it to YouTube.
With the attendance of the Italian studio at the Nurburgring, Kunos Simulazioni made good on the licensing agreement reached with Porsche, which was to provide customised versions of their software for virtual experiences at specially selected Porsche dealerships, race centres and motor racing events around the world.
Speculating on which Porsche model is represented in the short video, it has more than a passing resemblance to the Porsche 911 Carrera S. Kunos Simulazioni have recently let slip that the Porsche 911 Carrera S may be included in the first Assetto Corsa Porsche download content pack.
Until now, there have been few images posted online of possible Porsche content. Kunos Simulazioni’s Licensing Project Manager, Marco Massarutto, posted some images of the following Porsche models which may hint at what we can expect! Those cars were the Porsche 935/78 Whale tail, 911 Carrera S and the Boxter 718. Judging by the frequency of releases from Kunos lately, we shouldn’t have to wait long before more models are revealed! As soon as we get wind of any developments, you will be the first to know!
