The famous Flat6 Series mod from EnduRacers on is getting closer to making its rFactor 2 (rF2) debut. The EnduRacers have teamed up with the Gentlemen Racers to create this trailer for the upcoming mod and boy does it make rF2 look fancy.

Besides looking fancy it also shows off the new features that rF2 has over rF1, including physics upgrades, high-def cockpits, animated drivers and lens flairing headlights.
The mod is entering beta testing in the next few weeks, so hopefully we’ll be seeing it soon. I honestly cannot wait (even if I’m terrible in Porsche’s…).
Terrible at Porsche’s? Then prepare to be quite an extremistic racer in applying the Porsche driving-doctrine. Brake later than you would. Then, steer more than you would. Finally, accelerate harder than you would. 🙂
(this although it seems later year porsches have somehow lost this classic ‘slow-entrance fast-exit’ behaviour, many says)
There were many excellent Porsches drivers in this world, from the ‘ole Hans Stuck, to the FiA GT ‘meister’ racers like Luca Riccitelli, Stephane Ortelli plus some other german drivers (like Lucas Luhr, which was the 2000 ALMS champion in the GT class, if I’m not wrong). An advice ? The good old rule: learn from their driving. If possible, ‘spy the best’.
And, never have fear to ask something from a better Porsche driver, humility always helps, A LOT, and… practice-practice-practice. It may seems foolish, but the more diverse cars you try on the ‘virtual track’ (FR, RR, MR; etc.) the wiser your racing conduction (I’d say ‘awareness’) become: you know the car especially because you know how (and where) other cars differ! This is especially true with the Porsches, where – if you’re a beginner – you really have to un-learn the classic rules of circuit driving.

p.s.: rFactor 2 can be the only GTR2 substitute I might crave. But gosh, it’still so young and unfinished… I think I’ll stick with the king of racing.
