Last week Turn 10 released the first 167 cars of Forza Motorsport 7’s immense amount of 700+ vehicles. It seems now that Turn 10 is making this a weekly tradition. Forza Garage Week 2 adds various vintage cars to the growing list. Also, Volkswagen is making its comeback!
VW is back!
After being left out in Forza Horizon 3 to the dismay of many, the Volkswagen license could be secured for Forza Motorsport 7.
Three of them are included with this week’s batch of cars. The 1963 Volkswagen Beetle, the 1963 Type 2 De Luxe and the 1967 Karmann Ghia.
The Beetle should need no further introduction, just like the Type 2 De Luxe. Not familiar with the name? This image might refresh your memory.
The 1967 Karmann Ghia however, is quite special. What should later become the Scirocco, was all about the looks. Its name consists of the manufacturing company’s name, which built all of the roughly 500.000 examples in existence, Karmann, and the name of the design company involved, Carrozzeria Ghia. Both, coupe and convertible variants were available.
Whilst its looks are stunning and may suggest equally spectacular performance, the Karmann Ghia shares a lot of its internals with the Beetle. As a result, the car’s biggest engine was only 50 HP strong.
