Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, you know that Gran Turismo and Nissan are pretty excited about the world’s newest LMP1 car, the Nissan GT-R LM NISMO. While both entities have stuffed as many GT Academy winners as possible in the GT-R LM NISMO’s for this month’s 24 Hours of Le Mans, us virtual racers haven’t been able to yet….until now.
Update 1.19 of Gran Turismo 6 brings not only the uber wild front-wheel drive Nissan GT-R LM to the title but the equally fascinating PEUGEOT Vision Gran Turismo car.

The Peugeot can be purchased from the Vision GT option within the CARS section of the game. The GT-R LM NISMO on the other hand can only be unlocked if you run Round 4 of the ‘GT Academy 2015’, which begins on June 2nd. On top of that, to compete in Round 4 you must have competed in the previous three rounds and achieved at least a Bronze Award. They’re really making you work for the ultimate Godzilla!
Outside of the two new cars the only real update in V1.19 is a new sound effect for active wing/airbrake systems for certain Vision Gran Turismo cars.
In related Gran Turismo news, a few teaser images of the next ‘Vision’ car has been released and it is the SRT Tomahawk Vision Gran Turismo. It’s pretty much a single seat Viper on horse steroids. Looks fun.

Dang, I guess I need to go back and play some academy so I can get that car. I wonder if it has an interior. It should, the Toyota does…
