Sector3 Studios is developing another (almost) old school pack for RaceRoom Racing Experience (R3E) but this time its of the point-to-point variety. The new Hillclimb Pack has been unveiled for the first time in this video by Sector3 showing some GoPro hooning of the BMW 635 csi.

The pack will contain 5 car models, BMW 365 csi, M3 E30 Gr.A, M1 Procar, 320 Turbo and Carlsson SLK 340 JUDD (one way to get a Mercedes without paying for the license), in 14 classic liveries. The pack will also come with the RaceRoom Hillclimb Track. Hopefully we’ll see more (real) rally stages coming to R3E in the future.
After news of two new rally titles that lean more towards arcade, its good to see a sim like R3E releasing rally content. With still no real successor to the nearly decade old Richard Burns Rally, the door is very much open for a sim to take its place. Maybe that’s what R3E is going for?
Sector3 or R3E or whatever you want to call it has so many projects/games going in different directions at once, I am not sure what to think. Their point to point stuff is always fun, but like rally it is a solo event. That is fun, but it also gets old real fast. They have some great ideas, but they keep diluting the small pool of racers into separate channels or games. I hope they can find something sustainable.
I agree Tim. Sector three has too many many unfinished projects as it is. instead of fixing / updating their existing content they continue to release more “money making content”. I am a big fan of the Sim but i would much prefer they concentrated on fine tuning a few things in game before they release more Content.
While i always welcome new stuff, Im with you, they need to get the old content up to date in the physic department.
Some track could use their “updated track” tech.
They really need to update the free content otherwise who are you going to get people interested if the physic is what they wrote when the game came out.
I really don’t have any interest in the hillclimb stuff so I’ll pass on this. If the liveries are available for purchase I may grab some of those but, as a whole, I won’t be buying the hillclimb pack. I already have all the cars they’re offering in this pack.
What I’m really looking forward to next is the Fabcar pack. Well, that and Nordschliefe!
