iRacing New Content Previews and Pre-order

iRacing Formula Renault 2.0

iRacing has released a new video and images showing off some of the new content coming in next week’s Season 2 build.  They have also created a new way for you to enjoy said content faster, like, before the build is fully deployed faster…

But first, the previews.  iRacing has released the first images of the Formula Renault 2.0.  The little open wheel car that could only packs 210 hp but doesn’t weigh much more than a grand (lbs), keeping the power-to-weight ratio at near supercar levels.

The other preview from iRacing is the official trailer for the Mercedes AMG GT3.  While we previewed the car last week, you should still check out the car porn that iRacing’s Jack Davidson put out.  We have serious editing envy.

Speaking of the new content, you can now pre-order the new Mercedes AMG GT3, Audi R8 LMS GT3 and Formula Renault 2.0.

And one more thing…iRacing is unveiling a new feature with this build that allows you to keep driving while the new build is being deployed (March 8th).  You won’t be able to race – obviously – but you’ll be able to at least test your cars, including the new ones, once they become available in the downloader.

Here’s how you do it:

1.      Pre-Order any of the cars you are interested in
2.      Update any current cars or tracks you wish to have access to prior to the maintenance window
3.      Look for the downloader link that we will post at testdrive.iracing.com once maintenance begins and download the content you pre-ordered
4.      While we are in maintenance create an account here: testdrive.iracing.com
a.      You must use the email associated with your iRacing account when you create this account
5.      After the download is complete and you have created the new account you can simply select the car and track combination you wish to test on at testdrive.iracing.com
Once we have completed our maintenance this new testing will no longer be available, you will need to login to your member account as usual.
