iRacing has released the latest video in the Basic Training series, this time highlighting things you can do outside of the official racing series. Bryan Blackford uses this video to talk about how there is more to iRacing than just the racing.

One of the popular features is Hosted Racing, where racers can set up races and events however they would like. Safety rating is not affected in hosted events, so competition can be fierce. Sometimes, you can even find some real racers running (or hosting) events, so you may just be able to meet someone you wouldn’t expect.
You can also take it one step further by making or joining leagues, where racers can get together and compete in custom championships. League races can provide some of the closest battles in iRacing, and a some championships can be broadcast on YouTube or Twitch.tv! If you are looking for some close racing and an all-around good time making some friends in the process, check out the iRacing Leagues page and look around for a good league!
Some people also enjoy the more technical aspects, spending their time tinkering with setups, poring over telemetry to try to maximize performance out of the cars. iRacing has also recently implemented features such as the ability to serve as a friend’s spotter, calling out danger on the track. Some also enjoy painting some paint schemes for the cars, with some of the best painters even having their work featured on real cars.
All of these features and more are explained in-depth in the video, which serves as a great guide to learn more about what iRacing has to offer. It is definitely worth the watch for all iRacers. Are there any features outside in iRacing you enjoy? Anybody have any leagues they’d recommend? Let us know!
