The wheel and pedal market for Xbox One users has been pretty barren so far (only offering from Thrustmaster) but Mad Catz is changing that with the release of its Pro Racing Force Feedback Wheel and Pedals for Xbox One. The wheel and pedal set is now available for pre-order at the Mad Catz store, Amazon and other electronic distributors at a price of $399.99. Shipping starts July 3rd from Mad Catz and July 15th from Amazon.
It’s been a long gestation period for the wheel and pedal set. Mad Catz first revealed it in August of last year with a holiday release. Later, the release slid to February. Obviously, the schedule slipped further from there.
The wheel can be set to 270 and 900 degrees of rotation and is driven by helical gears (also used in the Logitech G27). The rim and paddle shifters are aluminum and the rim is wrapped in suede leather. The pedal faces are aluminum but the construction appears to be primarily ABS plastic. Speaking of the pedals, the spring force and travel can be adjusted, along with the height and lateral spacing. The steering wheel’s rack can also be adjusted from 0 to 15 degrees.
So Xbox One owners, has this pegged your interest?

Looks like a really nice wheel, Pedals look like shit. Do Xbox One owners boycott clutch? That’s two pedals sets now…
think i’ll stick to my TX
@weejimbob:disqus No I wish they would fix this issue.. I cant see myself spending $400 on something that im then going to have to spend much more buying seperate components. They need to let you build your own setup the way you want allowing you to buy the base, wheel, shifter, pedals, etc. This way everyone can get exactley what they want. And not have to spend a fortune… or spend a fortune.. it would be there choice. I think this would boost sales dramatically
This doesn’t spin my wheels like the Fanatec CSR Elite news did back on 360. Its quality I go for, and yeah, where is the clutch? Mad Catz staff must never have sat in a race car before. I wish these manufacturers had the same enthusiasm for the components as Dan Greenawalt does for the Forza series. If they did then we would have some amazing gear to chose from. Oh the irony of Forza enthusiasm and Fanatec gear not working on the xbox one. :/ and here I am fizzing about Horizon 2, but its going to be another controller based game for me.
This wheel appears to have a set of analog paddles on the rim. If that is true then we will finally have a reasonably low cost option for racers who need hand controls to drive. For me that is what is truly exiting about this.
$400 and no clutch? Ouch.
