Polyphony Digital, developers of Gran Turismo 6 (GT6), have released teaser images of the next car to join the futuristic ‘Vision’ series, the MINI Clubman Vision GT. The Vision Gran Turismo vehicles allow manufactures to not only show off their design muscle but preview future design styles and now MINI have joined the fray with their interpretation.
For the Vision Gran Turismo project, MINI have taken a MINI Clubman and given it some serious attitude with a chopped top, big wheels, x-out headlights (nice homage to old racing MINI’s that would tap over their headlights so they wouldn’t shatter), flared fenders and an aerodynamic body. The MINI Clubman Vision GT will feature 395 hp and all-wheel drive system, which will propel the car from 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds when it arrives to GT6 as a free download in the near future.
In related GT6 news, details of the upcoming V1.16 of the game have been released and it features some interesting features. B-Spec mode will be coming back to the series but in a slightly different form then when we last saw it in GT5. Traditionally, B-Spec has allowed you to create a virtual driver and build up his skills as he progresses up the racing ladder. Now you will have more control over your driver, giving him real-time inputs like overtake, slipstream, change lanes, accelerate and brake. Should add more immersion to the more traditionally hands-off approach of B-Spec.
Another major feature of V1.16 is the return of the fantasy Midfield Raceway. The track appeared in GT2 15 years ago but hasn’t appeared on console since GT4. The classic track has been completeley reworked for GT6 with updated graphics, day-to-night transitions and weather changes.
Coming full circle, V1.16 will now enable you to paint two past Vision Gran Turismo vehicles, the Mazda LM55 Vision GT and the Chaparral 2X Vision GT. Hopefully more Vision cars become paintable in the future as well, I’m sure the community will make these already cool looking concepts look even better.
Polyphony released this afternoon that an update is coming tomorrow, Thrusday the 26th, so you might be able to check out the 1.16 update sooner than later?
Darin will be releasing a hands-on look of both the MINI Clubman Vision GT and the updated Midfield Raceway in the near future, so keep on the look out for that!

The game needs all the help it can get. I still enjoy to play it at night. Low key.
