iRacing took to the interwebs today to tease next week’s Season 1 2016 new build content. Not only did iRacing release the first true trailer for the McLaren-Honda MP4-30 but they also released the first images of Southern National Motorsports Park.
The 4/10 mi short track is located in Lucama, NC (which is less than an hour from where I lived for 2.5 years and I never heard of it), features 17 degrees of banking and – I guarantee you – at least one Bojangles. Seriously…can’t drive a mile around there without running into some “Bo Time!”
We had already seen the images of the McLaren but we hadn’t really seen it in moving picture form…until now. iRacing kills two birds with one stone in the trailer that features not only the McLaren but the Nurburgring GP circuit. The trailer highlights the technical aspects of the McLaren, showing off the drag reduction system (DRS) and energy recovery system (ERS). Oh, and it sounds fabulous.

And one more thing… It appears like iRacing has updated their logo – which is at least 11 years old – with new font and have dropped the “.com”. I think the new font looks great and glad they dropped the “.com”. It was needed 11 years ago when no one knew what iRacing was, but these days, it’s not necessary.
