While we’ve already seen previews for the StanceWorks Track Expansion, they were of the crazy 1,500 hp RadBul drift car, and not any actual StanceWorks cars. Well that changes today with a whole bunch of screenshots and information about the StanceWorks BMW’s coming to Project CARS on January 26th.
In true StanceWorks fashion, both the Bimmers – the iconic 2002, and its modern iteration, the 2011 BMW 1M – feature all the modifications of their real world StanceWorks stablemates.

The 2002 features “Group 2 like” bodywork, Fifteen 52’s forged 3-piece Integrale SC wheels and a livery based off of StanceWorks forthcoming Lowly Gentlemen clothes line. The interior’s been stripped, leaving only vintage bucket seats, a single crossbar rollcage, Alpina guages and MOMO steering wheel. Under the hood is BMW’s M12, producing a reasonable 260 hp at an unreasonable 8,000 rpm.

The stock BMW 1M has been transformed into a GT3-inspired racer. The car gets a large splitter, rear diffuser and rear wing, good for 350 lbs of downforce at 150 mph. Under the skin are H&R Coilovers and an engine massaged to 460 hp. Fifteen52 Formula LTW wheels make room for larger brakes at all four corners. The interior is stripped with a full rollcage, race seats and Motec display.
You know, for a couple of cars that I wasn’t too excited about, I kind of am now. Maybe it’s because I miss my Daytona Violet ’95 e36 M3? Not sure what it is but I like the story behind these two cars and they have my interest.
