Thrustmaster has released some new updates for their line of flagship devices. They have a new PC driver available, as well as new firmwares for the T500RS and TX racing wheels. The driver also adds support for the new T300RS, which is set to come out next month.
The TX firmware seems to have the most extensive updates, including support for the TH8A shifter, which is coming out in August as well. The inclusion of a wheel-based auto clutch is an interesting addition, which allows you to use Manual+Clutch mode in games, even if you don’t have a clutch pedal. For the full list of updates, you can see the changelog below.
To download the updates for your wheel, as well as the new driver, you go to http://ts.thrustmaster.com, and select your device in the “Updates and Downloads” section. You can also install the latest firmware for your device via the Thrustmaster driver software.

Any big difference between the T300RS and the T500 RS?
And why didn’t they make drivers for the MAC
I would assume because not enough of the install base uses OS X for it to be worth the expense of writing OS X drivers.
That seems odd, must set to PS3 for PC. But as long as it works.
The PS4 setting enables the authentication chip required for it to work with the PS4. This would simply not work on the PC.
As an Xbox peripheral it boggles my mind as to why a PC is needed to update the Thrustmaster TX wheel? Can’t it be updated on Xbox One for those of us who do not own a PC?
Thrustmaster would have to code the updater to work on the Xbone, it would have to meet Xbox TCR and pass cert, then be pushed through Xbox Live. Expensive as hell and slow to deploy.
But if I’m buying something to use with the Xbox One (for $400) it SHOULD WORK with the Xbox One. I shouldn’t have to buy a PC to update a wheel made for the Xbox One. Microsoft allows the Xbox One controllers to be updated from the console via USB. There is no excuse for Thrustmaster not doing the same.
Jas Palermo told you, correctly, why they don’t update the drivers via the XBox One. An XBox One controller is Microsoft’s peripheral, hence they don’t have to pay themselves certification costs and there are millions of controllers. How many people have a Thrustmaster TX on the XBox One platform and not have access to a PC, either their own or somebody elses? How many 10’s of thousands of dollars are certification costs? Do the math yourself.
Or would you rather they do it specially, just for you?
I’ve installed the new drivers on Win 8.1 and pushed the new firmware to my TX. Works perfectly.
I ordered the T500RS. Can’t wait until it is finally mounted and I can do a lap at the Nurburgring. For 350 Euro in Europe it’s a good choice i think. More I could’t represented before my wife. Otherwise i’d buy a Fanatec 😉 but 1000 Euro is a lot…
