One of the most anticipated third party cars for Assetto Corsa has been released! Patrik Marek has released version 0.1a of the 1999 Nissan Primera, as raced in the British Touring Car Championship.
This Primera was first announced nearly a year ago, and quickly picked up a following behind it. As progress proceeded on the car, it was quickly evident that this could be one of the stars of the modding scene. We were teased by video previews, and more footage of this car. While it is not fully completed, Patrik decided to release it alongside the 1.0RC build of Assetto Corsa. For a list of issues, check out the list below.
The Nissan Primera was a star of the waning years of the “Super Touring” era, where manufacturers would push these FWD cars to their limits, which made for extremely exciting races. Nissan dominated the 1999 BTCC season, with the Primera winning over half the race events over the course of the season. Laurent Aïello took home the Driver’s Championship for Vodafone Nissan Racing. The Primera carried a strong legacy even into the early 2000’s, with Matt Neal winning a race in 2001.
