Believe it or not, Project CARS is almost upon us! PCARS will be dropping onto your PC, PS4, and Xbox One this November (with the Wii U and Steam OS versions coming in 2015). As the release date draws nearer, we get to see some shiny new preview videos to get a taste of what’s to come.

First off, we have the Project CARS Fan Page showing a preview of the user interface in a rather clever style. It is an interactive preview so you can click on the options to go to a new video showcasing that part of the UI. Note that you need to have annotations enabled to take full advantage of the preview, and that the interactive features will not work on mobile devices (to my knowledge).

Next up, DigiProst has put together a video of all of the cars currently announced for PCARS. I’ve gotta say, Slightly Mad has rounded up one of the most diverse range of cars for a PC racing title! Note that not all of these cars have been completed, so they are of varying quality at the moment.
For more information about Project CARS, you can check out their official webpage. Are you excited to race in PCARS this fall? What car are you most looking forward to getting behind the wheel of?

I was enjoying the first video until it abruptly stopt at 0:28
That video wasn’t meant to show the intro video, it’s meant to show the user interface. You want to see the full intro video, you can find that with a simple youtube search
Can’t wait
My main questions are 1. Will we have voice chat in Project Cars on PC? 2. Will we be able to open a room, have friends join us and switch tracks and or cars and stay in one room? 3. Any chance PS4 and PC will be able to race together in same room?
#2 is a yes, but for #3 the console manufacturers don’t allow it – the only potential cross-platform multiplayer will be Windows & Linux.
So do you work in the industry or just have an opinion?
Btw, PS3 and PC have already interacted in Dirt514 on PS3 and Eve on PC. So it is NOT impossible. Moving to PS4 and PC since they are both Windows 86 files capable it should be fairly easy. Now WILL they do it is another question, actually the one I asked.
I’m one of the testers / backers for Project CARS, and that’s the exact reason from the devs themselves.
Games which do allow cross-platform multiplayer are the exception and not the rule, in the same way that Unreal Tournament 3 supported mods on PS3 but virtually no other console games have.
Okay, but I could have been a tester/backer, that is not exactly a job title where they pay you for your expertise.
I’m not claiming any sort of expertise, I’m relaying the reason from SMS why there won’t be cross-platform multiplayer. Just forget I even tried to help.
I appreciate your input. Thanks for all your insight 🙂
Additionally, seeing as Logitech/Fanatec wheels are clearly not on console right now and I understand SMS/WMD are really wanting these wheels to be on console do you feel Logitech and Fanatec will actually someway, somehow, be ready for November? What is the general outlook of the Pcars tester community right now to the prospects of Logitech and Fanatec coming back to console? I realize SMS/WMD have nothing to do with the wheels but I just want to get a sense of the mood about Logitech and Fanatec’s abandonment of the console space and whether you feel anything can change?
PS4 and XboxOne are cutting their own throats. I won’t be buying either system and neither will any of my friends.
Man Tim..you seem to want to pick a fight and or complain every chance you get about this situation. This is the last time Ill say this. It is on Logitech to get their peripherals licensed and compatible. Not Sony MS. Start a petition. .write to Logitech but stop complaining about it here every chance you get. You were also very rude to the guy that offered you info and tried to help. He gave you info that is readily available in the PCars forum from the devs. He never claimed to be an expert. Lighten up dude….
Unfortunately SMS themselves are behind an NDA with some console details like that so even we WMD members don’t know what the situation is with Logitech and Fanatec. SMS have said however that the current wheel support list is not final, so perhaps at least one of the big two wheel manufacturers will support PS4 and/or XB1 by November.
I’m not sure Fanatec have abandoned consoles so much as they simply haven’t been allowed onto the new consoles yet (they’re relatively niche compared to a big player like Thrustmaster). I think they’d jump at the chance, the official Forza wheels got them some excellent exposure on the 360. Logitech on the other hand… I’m not sure how dedicated they are to simracing any more. I hope there’s a solution (especially as I own a G25!) but I honestly don’t know any details.
Thanks a lot for your honest answer. I was always under the impression that in sim racing wheels Logitech was the leader, followed by Fanatec (piggybacking off #1 Logitech), and Thrustmaster was the new kid on the block trying to make a name for themselves…so Thrustmaster is actually bigger than Logitech in terms of sim racing?
Not in terms of sim racing, but that certainly seems to be their goal with their new range of wheels supporting PS4, XB1 and PS3, taking over Logitech’s market share and more.
I meant more that Thrustmaster are bigger overall than Fanatec, so they probably have more influence (and money) to persuade the console manufacturers to let them be the first official wheel manufacturer. Thrustmaster have also signed a deal with SMS which as far as I can tell gives SMS their hardware to test with, in return for the promotion it gives them in the sim community – however it’s just coincidence that support for Thrustmaster wheels on consoles was revealed first.
Logitech on the other hand haven’t made a new wheel since the G27, I can only assume they don’t think there’s much profit in it any more.
Just have to say you are being rather rude to pez2k. Why ask questions if your plan is to refute answers? Even if he worked in the industry, what he would be saying would still be an opinion. The only case it would not be an opinion and be fact is if he worked for SMS or WMD and breached their non-disclose agreement, thereby incriminating himself. You should apologize to this man.
Not being rude, just tired of people with opinions and no expertise chiming in. I am asking this for real answers from real experts. I am hoping they might be reading this web page. Seriously though, I could have been a developer/investor and I admit I know nothing about modding or the technical difficulties involved in making a game or a system, but I do know what I want.
I also saw something concerning triple screens on the sit. It said with multiple Titan cards it would do triples. Won’t a single GTX 780 3Gb video card be enough for triples?
I think Digiprost took down the video on his channel. ISR do you recall what cars he/she showed?
Can’t wait for the Wii U version this looks soo good
