ProtoSimTech Pedals – Design Revealed and New Video Released

Chris Smith (Known in our forums as GTFREAK) has been hard at work developing a set of sim pedals, under the ProtoSimTech name. If you’ve been following his thread on our forums, you can check out his series of development videos.

Now, he has unveiled the design of his pedals, first showing the accelerator pedal. You can tell Chris has not skimped in the quality of the pedals. It looks like each pedal will be standalone, which will allow the freedom to mount the pedals wherever you would like.

The latest video Chris has released showcases the adjustments capable on the pedals. Some of the adjustments include pedal throw, resistance, and angle. I gotta say, he’s done a great job with making all the options available to tweak the pedals to a driver’s personal preference. The video’s definitely worth a watch if you’re looking into a new set of pedals in the future, or you just want to see how it works.

The ProtoSimTech Pedals definitely are something worth keeping a close eye on as development continues. You can check them out in our forums, their official site, or their YouTube channel, and maybe give Chris a shout out! What do you guys think of his pedals?

I think it looks like a “cheap” replica of the heusinkveld pedals (cheap in terms of unoriginal copied design but not as beautifull… ) with a potentiometer instead of a loadcell

I would be concerned if the gas pedal had a load cell on it 😉 We’ve just seen one pedal, so we don’t know how the rest of the set will pan out.

you would be concerned in terms of loadcell at the gas or… would be concerned about the copy then..?

Heusinkveld use load cells on all pedals… gas, brake and clutch… and it works awesome… smooth, precise and high resolution….
ofcourse you don’t apply the force directly on the loadcell at the gas or clutch… only on the brake you have a much bigger loadcell where you apply the force directy with the force of your foot on…
at the gas or clutch.. it’s a bit like here where the potentiometer is moved by a second arm and not applied directly from the pedal itself…

don’t know if you took a look at the heusinkvelds… but if you see them.. you clearly see why reacted this way… it’s an almost 1 to 1 copy.. just with a poti instead of a loadcell…

and that the heusinkvelds are much more beautifully shaped and designed
