Jay Ekkel of Simbin has released a new video, giving us a sneak preview of the Singleplayer feature for RaceRoom Racing Experience.

Jay decided to run a quick 5 lap singleplayer event at Zolder, using the Touring Classics series. He chose the Volvo 240 Turbo, and the race also consisted of the BMW 635 CSI and the BMW M3 E30 Gr. A.
Judging from the video, I think that we can really look forward to singleplayer’s implementation in R3E. SimBin is known for having solid AI in titles, and I feel like they’re onto something here as well. The first lap admittedly looked kinda iffy (which common issue with ISIMotor-based titles), but once the cars started to spread out, there actually was some good racing there. The AI seemed to be believable in their driving, and weren’t relegated to moving chicanes, like some other racing titles have. They actually battled against you and themselves (3-wide heading towards Kleine? Yes please!), which adds to the atmosphere, which can be lacking in singleplayer.
Singleplayer is looking to be publicly released tomorrow in the next major update to RaceRoom Racing Experience. Multiplayer will also be included, as well us updated track surfaces to improve the road feel in FFB wheels. I have a feeling that this next update will be a major step forward for R3E, when we will finally be able to race, not only against the computer, but ourselves as well!
If you haven’t given RaceRoom Racing Experience a try, what do you have to lose? It’s one of the more solid Free-to-Play racing titles available, and it’s just getting better. You can download it from Steam here. If you want to learn more about R3E, you can check out our in depth look we did back in June.
Are you looking forward to Singleplayer and Multiplayer coming to RaceRoom Racing Experience tomorrow? Let us know in the comments!

I am looking forward to this update. I would like to see more fps and more triple screen support. It works now, but it could be improved. Hopefully this will be a step in that direction.
Go Jay&co-workers. I Just looked at AC (maybe my comment already is taken away as it was a bit Simbinbiased) but once again what i cant help from immedetly “see” is that RR as well as Race looks so much more alive and seem to have better rawness to the driver between road and tyres. I know you implemented XP to work with RR3 (thanks for that!) but i got my doubts its enough when it comes to MP. But as so many a new Pc is on the “distant future” list – but hope to see you and all Race-07 players there and then..!
I wish they do something with the “Settings Menu” to where it is easier to find your way around to do any changes you want. Maybe its just me? But, I get completely lost in there. lol. I hardly ever play this Sim now because of that issue. The video of the MP does look pretty good. But, the race would probably be over before I could get all things done in “Settings” to race. he-he. =(
Hehe 😀 yes the options menu is a little bit :/ but its ok….
My problem is the ffb,i would like to see a smoother ffb cause that game deserves it….i hope that some good players will post their settings after the update
The graphics are OK….the sound is by far the best out there (imo better than rfactor2 and AC….ok the physics aren’t)…so lets see
Word has it that there will be a major overhaul of the entire menu system to clean it up. Stay tuned.
Definitely looking forward to this update. Very curious how much the road feel will be improved.
I was just back in R3E, I had not messed with the graphics much after I went to triple screens and I had been disappointed with the graphics. I turned it all to low, then just added the virtual mirror, turned up all mirrors and added sunlight shafts and it is absolute beautiful. I am running above 300 fps and the scenery is spectacular. Now I am super pumped to get these upcoming changes and additions.
Any word on Oculus Rift support?
The racing looks good! I have stayed away from RRRE because the whole pricing model is confusing. I looked at the steam RRRE site a while back and IIUC, we can get a couple of cars and tracks for free. I
will revisit the site this weekend and see what is available.
: )
edit…text says an update is on for today! cool
Apparently no update today after all. BUMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!
