It is Wednesday a.k.a RaceRoom day again and Sector3 Studios has announced its second major eSports competition for RaceRoom this year – the Mercedes-AMG Motorsport eRacing Competition
How does it work?
The now second iteration of the Mercedes-AMG Motorsport eRacing Competition will work as follows: Along with the DTM races of the 2017 season, which starts on May 7, eRacing Competition races will be held virtually at the same time and on the same tracks. 17 drivers and “a well-known Gentleman Driver representing Mercedes-AMG Motorsport” will compete for points, which will only be awarded to the top ten drivers, following the rules of the DTM.
Races will be broadcasted live and consist of a fifteen-minute warm-up session, ten minutes of qualifying and a twenty-minute race. To participate in the multiplayer race, you will have to place in the top 17 in qualifying. Qualifying, being a simple hot-lapping competition, will take place in the days before the event. Every driver will use the same car too, the brand new Mercedes-AMG C63 DTM.

What is at stake?
The six players who are able to collect the most points from the races will be invited out to the DTM season finale at the Hockenheimring in Germany to compete against the six Mercedes-AMG Motorsport DTM drivers. Out of that race, the best three eRacers will be awarded an AMG Academy racetrack training. Here are the prizes in detail:

- AMG PERFORMANCE training
- AMG ADVANCED training
3rd prize:
- AMG PERFORMANCE training
All the participants in the qualifying sessions will have the chance to win still unnamed prizes in a draw too.
